These terms govern use of the Sports Page BC website and its accounts, newsletters, community features, predictions, and related services. "Sports Page BC", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the service operator. Please read these terms before using the service. You must accept them when creating an account; if you do not agree, do not create an account or use features that require acceptance.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Nothing in these terms takes away rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 to create an account. The service is not directed at children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, involve a parent or guardian and obtain their permission where required. An age confirmation alone does not establish legal capacity to enter a contract.
Provide accurate account information, keep your login credentials private, and do not use someone else's account without authorization. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Contact us if you believe it has been compromised. Do not impersonate another person, team, publisher, or organization, or falsely claim to represent them.
You can stop using the service at any time and request account closure through the contact form. Account disabling, content removal, and information deletion are different actions; the Privacy Policy explains relevant retention limits.
Acceptable use
Use the service lawfully and respect other people. You must not:
- Post unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, defamatory, sexually exploitative, or otherwise abusive material, or share private or sensitive information about another person without lawful authority.
- Infringe copyright, trademarks, privacy, or other rights; misrepresent the source of content; or submit material you are not entitled to share.
- Send spam, scams, malware, or deceptive promotions, manipulate votes or predictions, or use community features for undisclosed advertising.
- Bypass access restrictions, probe or disrupt the service, obtain unauthorized access, or harvest account details or personal information.
- Scrape, bulk-download, republish, or use automated tools to access the service without our prior written permission, except ordinary search-engine indexing that respects our published crawling instructions or access authorized by law. Accessibility tools and normal browser functions are not prohibited by this rule.
Your posts and submissions
You retain ownership of content you submit. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to share it, including permission for personal information or images where required. Posting someone else's work with attribution does not necessarily give you permission to reproduce it.
For posts, replies, and other content you submit for publication, you grant Sports Page BC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce, format, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the service and make it available through its feeds and notifications. We may allow our service providers to perform those functions on our behalf. This licence does not transfer ownership or authorize unrelated commercial licensing of your content.
The licence ends when the content is permanently deleted from our systems, except for copies already delivered to others and limited retention needed for backups, legal obligations, or resolving disputes. Removing content from public view does not necessarily erase the stored record or copies held by others.
A private inquiry is not automatically permission to publish your message or contact details. If you submit a story tip or material expressly for publication, we may assess, edit for clarity or length, and publish it consistently with the purpose of your submission. We do not guarantee publication, payment, or confidentiality for unsolicited story tips. Contact us before sending material that requires a separate agreement.
Moderation and account restrictions
We may review, restrict, or remove content and suspend or disable accounts for violations of these terms, security risks, legal requirements, or conduct that harms the community. Repeated or serious infringement may result in account termination. We do not promise to review every submission before publication, and user opinions are not necessarily our own.
Use available reporting tools or the contact form to report a concern. Include the relevant page address and explain the issue. If you believe a moderation or account decision was made in error, request a review through the same form. We may act without advance notice where necessary to protect people, the service, or legal rights.
Our content and third-party rights
The service's original design, branding, software, and original editorial material belong to Sports Page BC or its licensors. You may browse the service, share links, and use material as permitted by law. These terms do not grant permission to commercially reproduce our material or use our branding in a way that implies endorsement.
Publisher headlines, excerpts, images, podcast descriptions and audio, team names and logos, and other third-party material remain subject to their owners' rights. Displaying or linking to material does not establish that we own it or can license it to you. Attribution, a short excerpt, or an externally hosted image does not by itself establish permission for reuse. No affiliation with or endorsement by a team, league, athlete, publisher, or rights-holder is implied unless expressly stated.
Scores and individual statistics may be factual information, but databases, compilations, images, commentary, and access arrangements can have separate rights or restrictions. Check the source's terms and obtain permission where needed before reusing material.
Corrections and rights-holder requests
To request a correction or report a copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights concern, use the contact form, select "General Questions & Feedback", and begin your message with "Content correction" or "Rights complaint". Include the specific page address, the material concerned, your relationship to it, the basis of the request, the action sought, and contact information for a response. If you act for someone else, explain your authority.
We will assess the request and may seek further information, correct or remove material, restrict access, or contact the contributor or source where appropriate. Information needed to address a complaint may be shared with the affected contributor or rights-holder, subject to applicable privacy obligations. We do not guarantee a particular outcome or response time beyond what applicable law requires.
This reporting process does not replace formal legal notices or statutory procedures, and these terms do not claim that a particular copyright safe harbour applies. Removing material here does not remove it from its original source or other websites.
Links, media, advertising, and sponsorship
The site links to outside publishers and services and may display externally hosted images, audio, or embedded media. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control their content, availability, security, or data practices, and a link is not an endorsement.
Advertising and sponsorship support the service. Paid placements should be identified as advertising or sponsored content. An advertisement does not mean we recommend an advertiser or guarantee its claims, products, or services. Any purchase or agreement with an advertiser is between you and that advertiser, subject to applicable law.
Advertisers are responsible for lawful, accurate claims and the rights needed for their creative material. Advertising bookings, payments, and campaign commitments require their own arrangements; these general terms do not create a campaign agreement or authorize use of athlete likenesses or team branding in advertisements.
Accuracy, predictions, and availability
Sports coverage, schedules, scores, standings, and statistics depend in part on outside sources and automated processing. They can be incomplete, delayed, misclassified, or inaccurate. Check the original source for official results or information you need to rely on. Community predictions are opinions, not guaranteed outcomes or betting advice.
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of accuracy, uninterrupted access, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from errors. We may change, pause, or discontinue features or sources, including where permissions or source access change. These qualifications do not exclude warranties or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Responsibility and limits of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Sports Page BC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of data, arising from use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Sports Page BC for reasonable costs and damages arising from third-party claims caused by content you submit in breach of another person's rights or by your intentional unlawful misuse of the service. This does not cover losses caused by our own wrongdoing. We will notify you of a claim for which we seek indemnification and give you a reasonable opportunity to participate in its defence; we will not agree to a settlement imposing obligations on you without your consent.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the service develops. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be brought to your attention through a suitable site or account notice, with an opportunity to review them before they take effect where required. We will seek renewed acceptance where required by law. Changes do not retroactively remove rights already accrued.
If you do not accept revised terms, stop using the affected features and contact us about closing your account. Personal information remains subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Subject to mandatory laws and your right to use a competent tribunal or regulator, disputes under these terms will be brought before the courts of British Columbia. This does not remove consumer protections or other mandatory rights that apply where you live.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A decision not to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive it for the future.
For questions about these terms, content complaints, or account matters, use the Sports Page BC contact form and describe the issue and relevant page or account.
