There’s something about BC.

In speaking with a former coach of a Canadian national sports program, it became clear to me: There’s something about BC.
Everyone will often feel a connection to the place they grew up and called home, but there’s a different pull to Canada’s West Coast and British Columbia. This coach knew that and said so. Months later, I found myself back on the shores of the Pacific. The pull to come back West, after six years in Toronto, was too strong.
Having grown up in Vancouver and taken in everything BC has to offer, I didn’t quite know what I was coming back to after six years in the centre of the universe, including my time at Toronto Metropolitan University, but I knew I needed to return.
Now, I’m thrilled to join a revival of an iconic brand, Sports Page BC, in the digital era as Managing Editor, alongside the site’s co-founders, including longtime Vancouver sports media professional Scott Rintoul, OneGroup Agency CEO and co-founder Jared Harman, and Daily Hive founder Karm Sumal.
When I heard about the project, I knew I wanted to be part of it.
Fewer BC sports stories have been told in a fickle media industry, and journalism has struggled to keep up, even with more stories than ever waiting to be told. I hope to lead the way in bringing many of our province's storylines to life and, along the way, help strengthen the increasingly perforated BC media industry.
I come to Sports Page BC after two years with Sports Illustrated, where I reported on Major League Soccer, the Olympics and the Canadian and U.S. men’s national teams at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including every game in Canada and involving Canada. I’ve also covered three Olympics: two with CBC Sports and one with SI, and I look forward to bringing that expertise to this project.
In addition to my time with Sports Illustrated, CBC Sports and bylines in Daily Hive and the Toronto Star, I founded and ran a U Sports-focused website for four years and am excited to dive back into uncovering untold stories in a similar fashion right here, with good journalism and storytelling at the heart of everything.
We all know stories matter—and that BC is a little different than the rest of the country, a fact I won’t forget having said goodbye to Toronto amid a record-depth snowstorm. Now, let's have some fun. Just don't forget your raincoat.
